Since 2014, Ever After is a Canadian festival in Kitchener, Ontario that only gets bigger and better every year. With the 5th anniversary happening next weekend (June 7th-9th), there is no better time to experience your first Ever After festival. While the festival started with a few mainstream names, it has been steadily moving towards a more underground sound with dubstep/riddim focus and that direction has given us the stacked line up of 2019. 750,000 Watts of award winning sound is ready to blast your mind into a fairytale weekend. This year we have drum and bass, tech house, techno, g-house, dubstep, and of course riddim to fuel the famously good vibes and good energy crowd of Ever After. Check out two up coming artists absolutely worth seeing below and a heads up on what to expect on Sunday’s closing.
Shiverz
Hailing from South London, UK and known as “Da Butcher”, Shiverz has been turning his venues into slaughterhouses since moving to Philadelphia last year. Sporting mad chops in his dubstep work with the triple drops that we all know and love, Shiverz delivers straight energy to the audience. As a new artist that’s gaining a lot attention and love quickly, Shiverz is a must see on Saturday for dubstep addicts. If you are close enough to the stage, you might see him wearing a bloody butchers apron.
Bijou
With hundreds of shows a year, Bijou has burst out of his local Phoenix, Arizona scene. If your two favorite genres are Hip Hop and House, you definitely want to catch this set on Saturday. Fusing Hip Hop tones into a bumping house sound, Bijou has created his own path in the G-House genre. Bijou has wide-spread vocal support from artists such as AC Slater, Don Diablo, Malaa, and Wax Motif and often opens sets for the last two.
Al Ross B2B Subtronics B2B SQUNTO B2B BoogieT
Anyone on this B2B2B2B can be a headliner, any of them. With Subtronic’s #cyclopsarmy and SQUNTO’s #dragonsquad joining forces with fans of Boogie T and Al Ross, the stage will collapse into a black hole before the night is over. If you consider yourself a riddim fan, watching these four seamlessly take over from one another on Sunday night is going to change you forever. If you have a neck brace, bring it, trust me. If you have work or any commitments on Monday, call in sick because you won’t be able to walk. All these artist are super genuine not only as DJs, but also as people and that really shows through the heat their passion brings. Make sure to save your energy for this insanity on Sunday headbangers.
