What comes to mind when you think of a stereotypical festival experience? Dancing on freshly cut grass under the mid-summer sunshine? Well, Altus Festival is flipping that stereotype on its head. That is to say, this festival is offering a whole new experience to adventure seekers and music lovers alike. During March 18-21st on Lake Tahoe in California, you can ski by day and party by night.

Although Altus is a brand-new event, their game-changing creative direction is sure to make this festival a major destination. Because this is a popular vacation region, you must purchase a hotel package in order to obtain a ticket to the event. The package includes a room at Harvey’s or Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, a 2 day ticket to the event, and a 3 day ski lift ticket. Standard packages start at only $790 for 4 nights! VIP includes upgraded rooms, VIP festival passes, and access to private parties. Starting at $1,000, these packages are some of the best deals you can find at Lake Tahoe this time of year. Moreover, don’t fret if you don’t have your own gear. Altus has partnered with Powder House to offer 35% off rentals and 10% off retail items for festival attendees!

Naturally, Lake Tahoe has tons of activities to offer. There’s something for everyone, from skiing to horseback riding to hiking to casinos. Altus is taking advantage of all of those amazing offerings and dropping a festival in the middle of it all. The lineup itself is very impressive and features artists from all different genres. As a result, house, hip-hop and techno are all represented. Bonobo is very well known for his unique sound. His expert ability to blend downtempo electronic, trip-hop and chill is very distinct. The Sugarhill Gang—an old-school hip-hop group—has been around for nearly 50 years and helped establish hip-hop as a genre in the ’80s. Other familiar names include Dirtybird house artist Justin Martin, electronic punk-rock trio WhoMadeWho, techno aficionado straight out of Detroit Ryan Crosson and original funky house master Doc Martin.
