With the unfortunate absence of Defqon.1 Australia in the festival calendar this year and the announcement that Knockout will no longer be returning to Sydney, thousands of harder styles fans were left waiting for a miracle; and the time has finally come. From the creators of Shadows of Wonderland and Kandy Carnival, HSU Events, Hard Kandy and Finders Keepers Entertainment have once again come together to present their biggest event yet. For the first time ever, HSU is heading outdoors to Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on December 7th, and bringing their biggest production ever!
The brand new outdoor event features a massive 28-artist lineup, made up of the hottest local talent, who will perform alongside world-class headlining acts. Spread out across three stages, you can catch all your main stage favourites, as well as raw, hardcore, UKHC and more. With so many exciting acts to choose from, I’ll be sure to be running from stage to stage all day; however, these are the top five acts I definitely don’t want to miss!
Darren Styles
The number one act I’m most excited to see is UK hardcore pioneer Darren Styles. After DJing and producing for over two decades, the English artist has grown to become one of the hottest happy hardcore names in the world. From chart topping collaborations to sold-out stadium shows, this is definitely one act you won’t want to miss. Check out his most popular track together with W&W below.
Code Black
Next up is Australian born DJ and producer Code Black. The Holland-based DJ and producer returns home once again for a highly anticipated hard-hitting set. After putting on one of the most incredible performances at Kandy Karnival’s ‘Last Hoorah’ last year, there is no doubt his debut at the very first outdoor HSU event will blow the entire crowd away! DJ Isaac
Without a doubt, one of the biggest names on the massive lineup is hardstyle pioneer DJ Isaac. Also in the game for more than two decades, DJ Isaac is often referred to as one of the godfathers of hardstyle, paving the way with his unique and innovative style. GPF Live
Getting harder and faster, GPF Live is one act I’m very excited to see. Known for getting ‘as weird and sexy as possible’, Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz doesn’t hold back at all when it comes to live shows. From Beastmode to Broccoli Fuck, the track titles alone pretty much set the scene for what will probably be one of the most unforgettable performances of the entire event. AniMe
The final artist is a brand new addition to my list. Italian DJ AniMe is a name I’ve heard floating around all festival season with nothing but rave reviews and I am beyond excited to finally see her! Crowned the ‘queen of Italian Hardcore’, the hard-hitting artist has quickly dominated the hardcore scene, performing on some of the biggest stages in the world and ranking as one of the best female DJ’s in the world. With more than 20,000 people registered for the event and the exclusive presale already sold out, tickets are going fast! General release tickets will go on sale on August 29 at 12pm and start at $139. Payment plans will also be available during the general sale.
