EDC Orlando surprised us all earlier this year by announcing that the festival would switch to 3 days, instead of 2 for the first time ever. For the last 8 years, EDC Orlando has been a staple festival on the East Coast bringing in the Insomniac vibes and stacked lineup from the West Coast. It has always been just a 2 day festival, like most of Insomniac’s secondary Electric Daisy Carnival events. With the bump up to 3 days this year, Insomniac is cementing EDC Orlando as more than just a “secondary” EDC event. Now, Insomniac has released the lineup for this year’s EDC Orlando and it is just as big as expected.
Surprisingly, this lineup is heavily house and techno. With the Southeast being known as the Dirty South and usually being strongly bass focused, it’s rare to see a lineup with so many techno acts. Of course, there are still some big bass artists on the lineup including Alison Wonderland, Adventure Club, Blunts & Blondes, Graves, RL Grime, REZZ, and JAUZ. But we also have surprising acts like ZHU, Will Atkinson and Timmy Trumpet. And of course, it is filled to the brim with house and techno like Yotto, Wax Motif, VNSSA, Solardo, Tiga b2b DJ Tennis, Nora en Pure, Noizu, OMNOM, No Mana b2b Eddie, Nitti Gritti, Loco Dice, i_o, Green Velvet, Gorgon City, Deadmau5, Fisher, Eric Prydz, Dombresky, Deorro, Camelphat, Charlotte de Witte, CID, Chris Lake, Born Dirty, BIJOU, Black Caviar, and Adam Beyer.
Check out the 5 artists we think you shouldn’t miss on the EDC Orlando lineup and why below.
Callie Reiff
Callie Reiff is a female future bass and future house crossover producer based out of New York. She has released tracks on Fool’s Gold Records and OWSLA. She was pumping out tons of new music in 2016 and 2017 and had her own radio show called Stoop Kids. She hasn’t been too active recently and so it was a nice surprise to see her name on a lineup in 2019. Hopefully this means she will start producing more music in the future.
CID
CID is a tech house producer based out of New York. He has his own radio show called Night Service Only, and also a new track under the same name. He has recently put out tracks with Don Diablo and Oliver Heldens. CID is one of the more underrated tech house artists and his set at EDC Orlando shouldn’t be missed.
Noizu
Noizu is a harder hitting tech house and bass house producer based out of Los Angeles. He has played at many Insomniac festivals this year and the infamous bangers “Music Sounds Better With You” with Malaa and “Rave Alarm” with Dombresky. He has also produced tracks like “Inside My Head” with Eli Brown, a remix of Yolanda Be Cool’s “Space Jam” and “4 The People” with Tony Romera. This set is not to be missed.
Solardo
Solardo is a tech house duo hailing from Manchester, UK. They have their own record label, Sola Records, which has released music from the likes of Shiba San, Camelphat, Will Clarke, Prok & Fitch and many more. They have recently collabed with Eli Brown, Black Coffee and Mason Maynard and are pumping out some of the best tech house and techno in the scene right now.
VNSSA
Another amazing female producer on this lineup, VNSSA, hails from Los Angeles, California and produces tech house/techno. She has released tracks on Dirtybird and has played at most all of the Dirtybird Campouts. She has also released tracks on Box of Cats, Dim Mak and HotBoi Records with Walker & Royce. She recently played fire sets at Lightning in a Bottle and HARD Summer and should not be missed at EDC Orlando.
