Collaborating with everyone from the Chainsmokers (still pending release) to Gucci Mane, producer QUIX is a versatile producer from New Zealand who has been keeping trap music alive in Australia and North America. Over the years he has gained support from major artists like Skrillex, What So Not, and Major Lazer. He has releases on Mad Decent, Ultra Music, Fool’s Gold, Buygore, and Dim Mak to name a few.

His first EP, Heaps Cool, debuted on Dim Mak back in May of 2017. The six record compilation featured songs like “Four Letter Lie” and “Riot Call”. These unique tracks started to garner him recognition in the scene. He then released his second EP, Illusions, in November of 2018. It features six tracks and collaborations with Jaden Michaels, Bok Nero, Reigan, David Shane, and Aviella. When asked about the meaning behind the title he told the following to EDM.com.

“We’re using the ILLUSIONS concept as a contradiction. I want people just to come as they are to my shows, it’s all about the music to me, and I want to be real and share music that we vibe to and can be that moment together. No ILLUSIONS, just music.”

During a Reddit AMA back in 2015, he admitted that he first got his start by “playing on Virtual DJ and listening to Skrillex DJ.” From there he went on to do birthdays and weddings before getting management and focusing on artist performances. He then began to get some attention in the New Zealand Bass scene and started to get requests for larger bookings. Since then he has hosted massive tours in Australia and North America, playing both local venues and major festivals. This year he will be playing at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Ill Fest in Austin, and Escapade Music Festival in Ottawa, Canada in addition to stops in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Sydney, and New York just to name a few. This Saturday he will be stopping in Los Angeles to play at Exchange. The show, presented by Insomniac will also feature special guests Theives, VNA, and Slumdogg Trillionaire. Doors open at 10pm and the show ends at 3am.
