Electric Island is a multi-date festival located in Toronto, Canada. Taking place on Hanlan’s Point, Toronto Islands this outside open-air and picnic festival has been bringing some of the best house and techno acts to Toronto every summer. This year will be no different with Electric Island announcing five dates for the 2019 summer – May 19th, June 22nd, August 10th and a two-day finale on August 31st and September 1st. Electric Island has announced the artists for all 5 dates of the season, as well as the full lineup for the season opener on May 19th.

The season opener’s lineup will include the likes of the techno industry veteran, Dubfire, the Berlin mastermind duo, ÂME, the Brooklyn pair, Bedouin, Detroit’s “Women on Wax” founder, DJ MINX, and Toronto favorites, Jonathan Rossa and Carrera & Tavares.

Dubfire, also known as Ali Shirazinia, is a pioneer of techno. He has been producing and playing techno for years and is known for his multiple-hour long sets around the world. Whether it’s his involvement with Deep Dish, his solo performances at an extensive list of the world’s most influential clubs and festivals, his dubfire:live HYBRID show, running his label SCI+TEC, or simply his exploration of audio and visual technology, Dubfire is in a class of his own.

The secondary stage, the Moog Stage, will host the Canadian record label Rawthentic. This stage will showcase a back to back set of Toronto’s own and Rawthentic label founders, Carlo Lio and Nathan Barato, house gangster, DJ Sneak, Puerto-Rican born, Caleb Calloway, and Chicago house hero, DJ Deeon.

“Since it’s inception in 2005, Rawthentic Music has idealized the true meaning of cutting edge house. The record label has artists that make tech house, techno and more. Taking pride in their considerably gritty sound, the Rawthentic crew lead by Carlo Lio has become one of the most respected emerging labels. Based out of Toronto, Rawthentic is more than just a title but instead it represents an innovative project. With their name being taken from American blues legend Bobby Whilcock, Rawthentic takes pride in releasing a high energy sound that is outside the realm of typical. Garnering the support of dance music icons, Rawthentic has seen it’s tracks played on every major stage throughout the world.”
