Three artists that you need to check out at this years Lost Lands include: G-Rex, Sfam, and The Widdler!
G-Rex
The Detroit-native, Jake Sweeney, better known as G-Rex, gained immense popularity in 2018 after his release of “Babatunde,” a collaboration with PEEKABOO that was released on Liquid Stranger’s label WAKAAN. He then followed this with his RIFT EP and later REQUIEM and was featured on Liquid Stranger’s Infinity tour in 2019. He has had a handful of singles and collabs released with both prominent leaders and underground artists in the base music scene, including Ghastly, YOOKie, DUBLOADZ, and more. Check out his latest track, “Doughboi” with TYNAN here, and make sure not to miss his nassttyyy set at Lost Lands.
sfam
sfam, comprised of Michael Pearson and Jacob Hoerner, are the duo that you do not want to miss at this year’s Lost Lands. Coming from New Orleans, they are bringing the experimental bass to a whole new level with amorphous sounds and dirty wubs. They have gained support from major industry players such as UZ, Quix, sumthin sumthin, Dirty Monkey, Kai Wachi, Toadface, TVBOO, and many more. Check out their track “Splatter,” with CAMBOT here, and make sure to catch their set at Lost Lands!
The Widdler
The Widdler, also known as Yoni Oron, will be taking us all on a dubstep journey as we enter into the weekend of Lost Lands. As his sounds ranges from reggae-dub to mysterious and melodic wubs to bold percussion and dubstep, The Widdler will be one you do not want to miss at this year’s Lost Lands. He has played alongside Bassnectar, Tipper, Caspa, Bukez Finezt, Truth, Downlink, Excision, Doctor P, and many more, and will put you into a trance as you step into the mystifying unknown through his wild, deep sounds. Check out his track, “Houdini” with Pushloop, and do not miss his voyage at Lost Lands.
Lost Lands is not only full of all of these great artists, but its legendary Sound Camp lineups have yet to be revealed. This year, Sound Camps will be held inside the venue, so after the main stages end, festival-goers will not need to walk anywhere to attend. Bass will stay alive inside the main venue all night long!
This three-day festival will be held from September 27th through the 29th at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio. Camping passes, Thursday pre-party passes, and VIP passes are all available once again. This year, Excision is introducing a new Wednesday early-entry pass which will allow the festival traffic to be spread between three days instead of two. New campground areas, shuttles, and water stations will be set up as well.
Excision will also be holding a “Producers Den” where attendees will be able to spend an afternoon learning from their favorite Lost Lands artists. Once registered, one will have an opportunity to enter exclusive “Producers Den Remix Competition” before the festival. The winner of the contest will receive a slot at the late night Sound Camps after the festival.
If it is anything like the past two years, there will be more dinosaurs, more dubstep, and more heat brought. Let’s just hope a volcano isn’t destroyed like year one! Excision is truly bringing back the fire once again.
Be sure to grab your tickets here! We will see all you headbangers back in prehistoric times!
