What’s better than your favorite artist and its collective announcing its first ever music festival? Announcing it is on an all inclusive resort, that’s what! CID Entertainment has teamed up with The Foreign Family Collective to create a music festival within a tropical paradise … It’s like the REAL Fyre Festival!
When I heard about Sundara, I didn’t even care about the price because I knew I had to be there. Unfortunately, a lot of ODESZA and The Foreign Family Collective fans were extremely disappointed that their first festival was so expensive, hindering the ability for just anyone to go. From my perspective, a five-day all-inclusive vacation usually costs anywhere from $1,200-$1,500 anyway before the cost of a flight. If you share a room with three of your friends, the price was $1,650; and, after the cost of my plane flight, it came to about $2,000. I consider it worth it. What is better than a vacation AND a music festival combined? Nothing that I can think of.
Of course you must be thinking, “Who is on this lineup?” The headliners include ODESZA, Rufus Du Sol, RL Grime, Alison Wonderland, Bob Moses, Jai Wolf, TokiMonsta, Mount Kimbie, Kasbo, Golden Features, and more! ODESZA is playing three unique sets: one NO.SLEEP DJ set, an ambient Yoga DJ set, and a full set to close out the festival. There will also be a late night RL Grime B2B Alison Wonderland DJ set, daytime pool parties, an exclusive Foreign Family pop up shop, daily yoga, and off-site excursions! This truly is a once in a lifetime experience in paradise.
Luckily, I have actually been to this exact resort before. The Barcelo Maya in Riviera Maya is an incredible place. There are swim up bars in every pool, incredible late night shows, an after hours club, water slides, a dock to jump off of, and so much more! I visited this resort when I was younger and remember there never being a dull moment. I can’t believe I get to experience it with my best friends, surrounded by all my favorite music. The most exciting thing about this festival is how intimate it will be, we just may bump into Alison Wonderland on the beach!
