The vibes were running high as music aficionados from far and wide gathered at the historic Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles to ring in the New Year at Minimal Effort. It did not matter whether you were walking in as GA, VIP, or had a table package; it was obvious amongst the crowd that anywhere you went everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves no matter what stage you were grooving at.

The energy was palpable as soon as you entered through the front doors. After entering you would find yourself at the Main Theater where some headliners such as Monsieur Frazier, Human Resources, Layton Giordani, Sasha, and Skream took the stage! This was just one of five stages the festival attendees had the pleasure of exploring, including the Basement, Lost Room, and 900 Block. Last but not least you had the Ballroom which was hosting a Dirtybird label takeover by none other than Will Clarke’s Cuddle Club and Justin Jay’s Fantastic Voyage. Decked out with Funktion-One sound and speakers and some awesome stage production, attendees in the Ballroom were seen rocking out to the fun, funky, upbeat sounds that the Dirtybird players brought to share with us all.

Justin Jay followed his Fantastic Voyage band members Sam VanHorn and Danny Goliger who were doing a B2B set. Energetic, fresh, and simply magical are a few choice words for the vibe that Justin Jay was setting as he rang in the New Year with the Ballroom packed full of excited and joyous music lovers.

Fellow Dirtybird player Will Clarke took over the decks after Justin Jay and brought the roof down with his heavy hitting, dark techno and tech house beats. And as short as Will Clarke maybe, he made up for his stature by taking full command of anyone on the dance floor by quickly getting those booty’s shaking and bodies gyrating to the bass lines that he brings.

Last but not least Option4 closed out the Ballroom and continued to bring the heat with some amazing house music vibes that rewarded all those who stayed to catch him with a real treat. He was joined on stage for an epic B2B to close out the night and send everyone home feeling blessed to not only ring in the New Year surrounded by great people but even greater music, vibes, and energy as well!
