Calling all festival-goers in the greater-Philadelphia and surrounding area: a new festival has emerged with an insanely-stacked lineup! HiJinx Festival is bringing the biggest names in the EDM and Hip-Hop industry to the largest venue in the Northeast. This indoor extravaganza will take place in the Philadelphia Convention Center on December 28th and 29th. After not playing in the city since 2015, Bassnectar will be returning to headline this first-year festival along with Odesza, Griz, Illenium, Big Gigantic, RL Grime, Ganja White Night, and Flatbush Zombies.

Besides recognizing these jaw-dropping headliners, there are a few emerging artists that you will need to keep an eye out for:

Denzel Curry

The South Florida native just released his newest three-piece albumand it is much different than his last. While his last album was very aggressive, TA1300 is very poetic and versatile, proving that he is mastering more than just SoundCloud Rap. Although there are still some abrasive moments, this new album is filled with melodic lyrics and beats that dive into a whole new level of emotion and analogy. Curry mentions topics from gun violence to sexual abuse to voting to the horrors of the materialistic society that we live in. If Denzel Curry’s performance at HiJinx is anything like his new album, it will be extremely powerful, daring, and must not be missed.

Dorfex Bos

Known for his down-tempo, hypnotic sounds, this Brooklyn native has been working alongside headliner and DJ/producer Bassnectar over the years. He has been featured on Bassnectar’s remix of his self-titled track “Dorfox Bos,” in addition to “Horizons” and “Other Worlds” off of his Reflective EP. Just as his name symbolizes the unison of nature and technology, his music manifests the same synergy. He just recently released his four-track Opinions EP that captures a diverse and deep bass with a mysterious and evasive melodic sound. Make sure not to miss his performance; his expansive beats and celestial energy will leave you in a full-body trance contemplating the difference between dreams and reality.

Kaivon

This up and coming producer based out of L.A. is one to look out for. He just recently took stage for the first time at Soulstice Music Festival and has gained attention from major producers like Bassnectar, Allison Wonderland, and Ekali. Kaivon has currently been releasing electronic singles that follow a central theme of rebirth and self-discovery. These tracks range from chill-trap instrumentals to beautiful and inspiring vocal pieces with soothing percussions and future bass drops. If you’re feeling lost and need a fresh and uplifting vision, or are feeling as if you have been going down the wrong path and need to make a conscious change, be sure to check out Kaivon’s spiritual performance at HiJinx Festival.

HiJinx Festival will be dynamic, vibrant, and psychedelic. The entire GA floor of the Philadelphia Convention Center will teem with captivating music, intricate lights, beautiful art, craft beer, delicious food, and much, much more. What better way end the year than with this impressive lineup and colorful atmosphere in the City of Brotherly Love. This first-year festival is sure a New Year’s celebration that you won’t want to miss.
