Romania’s largest electronic music festival is returning in 2018 for its fourth year. The four-day open-air event transforms the city of Cluj-Napoca in Romania to the perfect holiday destination for electronic music lovers. For a young festival, it’s already won awards including Best Major Festival at the European Festival Awards after its first event in 2015! Check out the lineup announcement below:
With over 100 hours of continuous music, more than 250 artists will be performing across five stages at this year’s festival, making it the biggest Untold festival yet! The star-studded lineup features some of the biggest names in EDM, techno, trance, and drum and bass, as well as hosting up and coming artists. Here are my top artists to see from each day.
DAY 1: THE ASTEROIDS GALAXY TOUR
One of my favourite things about exploring festivals around the world is discovering new artists. I’m super excited to check out this live act. Danish pop band, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, will perform on the main stage and bring their psychedelic/indie-pop sound to day one of the festival. You have probably already heard many of their tracks, which have been featured in commercials and in popular TV series like Gossip Girl! Check out one of their most famous tracks, which was featured in Apple’s 2008 iPod Touch commercial below (sound familiar?).
DAY 2: KSHMR
American born DJ and producer KSHMR will be making his Untold debut on the main stage this year. Drawing inspiration from his Kashmiri-Indian roots, KSHMR incorporates a unique method of storytelling to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and sound. You won’t hear this sound anywhere else in the festival scene. Check out one of his most popular tracks below.
DAY 3: DANNY AVILA
Spanish house and electro house DJ Danny Avila will be performing on day three. He’s worked with some of the biggest names in the world including Tiesto, Fedde Le Grand, Nervo, and even The Vamps. Danny regularly makes main stage appearances at some of the biggest festivals in the world. Check out one of his most popular tracks below.
DAY 4: ARMIN VAN BUUREN
Untold’s resident headliner Armin van Buuren will return to the main stage for the fourth year in a row. He’s one of the most highly anticipated sets of this festival. The king of trance and master of marathon sets is known for routinely performing longer than most DJs. In 2017, the Dutch DJ played a five-hour set when he was only scheduled for three, making it one of the most memorable sets in the festival’s history! (Check out the entire set here).
