When you are a type A planner like me, you tend to set goals. Sometimes they are achievable goals, and then along with those come bigger dreams. I always had a goal of attending the largest electronic music festival in the US. Once you achieve a goal that monumental to your life, as I did, you start to think about dreams. Are my dreams attainable? My epic dream is to attend Tomorrowland. It is time to turn that dream into a goal. I can think of no better festival in the world that I would be interested in attending. Tomorrowland is not just a festival; it is a total immersive experience. One I would very much like to stamp my passport for.
Typically, I am a lineup girl. I choose festivals partially for the experience, but primarily the lineup. There is nothing more exciting than seeing all of my favorite artists at one venue. The festival itself has always come second for me. Tomorrowland will be my first attempt at letting go and literally just going for the experience. Now that I have conquered the US festivals that I wanted to hit, I am setting my sights on Boom, Belgium. If the universe provides, this will be my first European festival. I can’t think of any other festival I would rather attend. Tomorrowland is not just any festival, it is THE bucket list festival.
This years theme is “The Story of Planaxis.” To be completely honest, I’m not even sure what that means, but it sounds like one hell of a great time. If I had to guess, I would assume it seems ocean themed, or like a lost city of Atlantis. If you haven’t marked your calendars yet, these are the weekends for this year’s extravaganza.
Weekend 1: Friday, July 20, 2018 – Sunday, July 22, 2018
Weekend 2: Friday, July 27, 2018 – Sunday, July 29, 2018
The lineup hasn’t yet been announced, but every electronic music artist who is anyone will likely be there. Their lineup and experience year after year has been phenomenal to live vicariously through my friends photos and video and this time I am NOT sitting out.
Ticket sales have not yet started, but you must sign up for pre-registration on their website which begins January 9th and runs through February 2 in order to be eligible to buy a ticket. Tickets go extremely fast when released (think Burning Man fast) so do not sleep on this. Several attendees have spoken very highly of the global journey sale to ensure a ticket is locked in.
I look forward to expanding my horizons, and meeting the People of Tomorrow.
