“Can I just live at a music festival?” Who of us hasn’t uttered this, thought it or reposted the meme? For EDC faithful, those dreams are one step closer to coming true. Behold, Camp EDC! Details were announced yesterday on what could be considered EDC Las Vegas’ most intriguing addition to date. The feeling of waking up at a festival is hard to beat, never mind the fact you’ll be trading gridlock traffic for a lazy walk back to the campground. From amenities like air-conditioned tents and free showers to activities that include rave aerobics and go-kart racing, pack an extra case of Red Bull so you have enough energy to experience all that Camp EDC has to offer. Here are some details on what could be your home for 4 nights under the electric sky:

THE MESA

The heart of Camp EDC, this fully-loaded adult playground features daytime pool parties, guest speakers and essentials like a general store and charging stations. Traded away all your singles on night 1? Visit the kandi making station. Ran out of time to get a haircut in your hometown? Head over to the barber shop. You can even partake in yoga, hula-hoop classes or guided meditation. The Mesa is also home to an exclusive Thursday night campers-only pre-party and also daily pool parties. Make some new friends on EDC Eve to kick off the best weekend of the year.

TENT CAMPING

First off, these aren’t just any tents. These are ShiftPod2’s with air conditioning! Festival Squad has extolled the benefits of ShiftPods before so read up on why they’re the best in the game here.

Moon Glow Camping

How Much: $1,199 for 4 nights

Squad Size: Up to 4

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bedding) for this option that will house up to 4 of your rave fam. Your ShiftPod2 will be set up atop cushy artificial grass and comes with a 4-port USB strip, lockable tent doors and zippered tent window flaps. Beat the heat with an adjustable air conditioner and set the mood with string lights, both of which are included with this selection. Moon Glow campers have access to porta-potties and free shower facilities.

Desert Rose Camping

How Much: $1,499 for 4 nights

Squad Size: Up to 2

Leave your blankie at home, Insomniac’s got you covered…literally. This camping option comes with air mattresses (1 queen or 2 twin), linens, pillows and air conditioning to cool you down as you doze off. In addition to most of the same inclusions as Moon Glow (lockable tent doors, tent window flaps, string lights), this camp site is for Desert Rose campers only, meaning you have dedicated camping showers and air conditioned restrooms. This camping area is also a bit closer to the Mesa and the festival entrance.

RV Camping

How Much: $329

Squad Size: Up to 8

If an RV is how you roll, this option is for you. Cruise to the Speedway where they offer a power hookup, RV water refills and pump-outs for an extra charge. Max size for your ride is 45′ and the number of people you bring has to match up to the vehicle’s specified sleeping capacity. You still get access to porta-potties and free showers of course, and there are a few power options that can be added for an additional charge.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

If you’ve ever camped at a festival before, you know efficient packing is key and EDC will be no different. You’ll have to bring all of your belongings from your car to the Camp EDC check-in area so investing in a wagon of some sort or, at the very least, wheeled-luggage isn’t a bad idea. Trying to build a rave-borhood with your fest fam? Make sure everyone arrives at check-in together. Camping spots are assigned on a first come, first served basis so you won’t be able to hold a spot for the late arrivals. Another item to note, sadly the ShiftPod2’s aren’t yours to keep. A refundable security deposit of $250 will be collected per group upon check-in and provided you don’t blow a hole out of the top of your ‘pod or sell the air conditioner for parts, come the end of the weekend you’ll be good to go.

EDC Las Vegas has managed to up the excitement factor once again and we have one less month to wait than usual. Boasting cooler temps and even more to explore, the Speedway will once again be transformed into the place we call home but this time, we mean it.

Find everything you need to know about EDC Las Vegas here.  Festival tickets are on sale now and camping options go on pre-sale noon PST Wednesday, November 15 with the general on-sale beginning at noon PST on Thursday, November 16.
