Freaky Deaky to host the likes of collab fiends BTSM and distractingly good Jamie Jones

written by Jennifer Dawn Fall

With summer wrapping up, I’m looking forward to pumpkin spice flavored everything, comfy sweaters, and every raver’s favorite holiday—the one time of year everyone else gets as crazy with costumes as we do. One Midwest Halloween massive at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL has something extra freaky in store…

Held October 28-30th, Freaky Deaky’s eight year running is set to be bigger and better than ever. Disclosure, DJ Snake, and Tiesto are all notable headliners, but I’m most excited for Black Tiger Sex Machine. Their most recent single “Mountains”, released at the end of last month, pushes the electro house envelope in an ultra-collaborative direction, as the trio incorporated the sound of fans chanting “BTSM!” from various stops along their inaugural US tour into the track. Collaboration seems to be a running theme for BTSM; the aforementioned tour was for their debut album Welcome to Our Church, which featured other Kannibalen artists including Lektrique, Apashe and Dabin. Be sure to catch their set at Freaky Deaky on Friday, you’ll know you’ve found it when you see LED tiger helmets.

Others on my list include the multi-genre sexy sounds of Paper Diamond on Saturday, whose bassist roots and business mind  have helped him gaina strong fan base. Finally, Jaime Jones is a very promising up and comer in the house world who will take one of Freaky Deaky’s stages on Sunday. His set at Reaction New Years Eve last year was progressive, insightful, and so dance driven that we nearly missed the headliner’s set…definitely bring your most comfortable dance shoes for this one.
