You may be wondering why a self-proclaimed Bass Head is writing about ABGT’s Weekender Event again. For those of you who remember, in 2019 I covered The Weekender Event after a colleague from Festival Squad couldn’t attend last minute. Going into the event, I knew no one on the lineup other than Above & Beyond. With Bass and Dubstep being my love languages, I had never been to a strictly House/Trance event. I approached the weekend with an open mind and heart and ended up loving every moment! I had an absolutely fantastic time immersed in the worlds of Anjunadeep and Anjunabeats. I connected with incredible new friends who explained this new world to me and found myself vowing to return to the next one.
Group Therapy
Three years have passed and we all find ourselves in need of Group Therapy in ways we couldn’t have predicted. I’m ecstatic to return to ABGT’s Weekender Event at The Gorge Amphitheater July 22-24, 2022. Bringing a stacked lineup to the legendary Gorge, this year’s Weekender Event proudly announces Ben Böhmer, Eli & Fur, Mat Zo, Genix, Franky Wah, Amy Wiles and Andrew Bayer, to name a few.
Since my first Weekender in 2019, I’ve had time to properly educate myself in the Trance and House arenas. I’m personally excited for Ben Böhmer, Mat Zo, and Eli & Fur.

The Experience
The music is just a small part of the Weekender Event. Kicking things off on Friday is the Pre-Party. In 2019 there was a silent disco held in the Meadow (inside the venue at a smaller stage), where artists took turns spinning tracks to warm us up for the weekend. Jono from Above & Beyond even jumped in the mix for a bit, which was a special treat. Ping pong tables were set up so fans could play while listening to music – I had never experienced anything like it and had a lot of fun. A full evening of music is planned for Friday, but it’s unclear whether or not it will be a silent disco again. Fingers crossed!
The Weekender Event is known to sprinkle in lots of surprises for their fans. There will be artist meet and greets scheduled each day, yoga workshops and classes, meditation sessions, and a series of panel discussions on various topics hosted by artists. It’s not every day you can listen to your favorite artists talk about important topics on current events.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a surprise pop-up set! Last time Seven Lions joined Above & Beyond on stage to debut their song “See The End”, which was as magical as you are imagining. Later that evening Seven Lions popped up in a food truck in the campground and played for a few hours. Don’t forget to explore the campgrounds after hours for renegade sets!
