Lights All Night has been a New Year’s Eve staple for many years now. Although it has changed the number of days, and the exact days it falls on – LAN has consistently brought amazing talent to Texas for New Year’s Eve weekend. This year LAN will fall on Friday December 27th and Saturday December 28th, so not exactly New Year’s Eve, but a great warmup to the turn of the year.

Taking place in the Dallas Market Hall in Dallas, Texas; LAN will bring two days of delicious beats, art installations, roaming performers, aerialists, and much more. The headliners for Friday night are Skrillex and Virtual Self, Porter Robinson’s Japanese fantasy girl alter-ego. Saturday night is headlined by Bassnectar and Louis the Child. Other names on the lineup include AC Slater, GG Magree, Herobust, KAYZO, Liquid Stranger, Said the Sky, San Holo, Slushii, Subtronics, Zomboy, Boogie T, He$h, Jack Beats, BIJOU, Taiki Nulight, Golf Clap and CODES.

So who should you be excited for on this lineup? There’s a ton of amazing artists on this lineup cutting across all subgenres of electronic music but the thing I’m most excited for is the Night Bass Takeover.

So what is Night Bass?

Night Bass is the record label by infamous house producer, AC Slater. Night Bass is known for it’s bass house influenced by UK garage, grime, bassline, house and everything in between. Most of the artists on the label are from the UK and you can hear it in that UK bassline sound. AC Slater started Night Bass in 2014 to bring more of that grimey G house to the US. Now, Night Bass is a super successful and well-renowned label across the US with a cult-like following. Some of the artists on the record include Jack Beats, Petey Clicks, Sinden, Taiki Nulight, Chris Lorenzo, CODES, Jay Robinson, VOLAC, Phlegmatic Dogs, and Shift K3Y.

Jack Beats

Jack Beats is actually a duo – Niall Dailly & Ben Geffin from London. They are currently on tour with AC Slater throughout Australia. They put out an EP at the beginning of the year called The Remedy with DJ Zinc and Taiki Nulight. They most recently did a guest mix on fellow Night Bass artists podcast, VOLACAST. Take a listen to it below.

BIJOU

BIJOU is the G House master. Infusing elements of hip hop and classic house, BIJOU’s sound is live enough for the underground, but mean enough to hold down any main stage. BIJOU’s show-stopping 2016 collaboration with Dr. Fresch, “Hello” marked a major turning point for his career in music and Future Ghetto as a whole. He has put out a couple EPs already this year, one with Dr. Fresch and is currently on fall tour with Gerry Gonza and Loud Luxury.

Taiki Nulight

Taiki Nulight is another UK native, now producing bass house and G house on Night Bass. Taiki Nulight originally produced drum n bass and has now shifted over to the house realm. He released a brand new track, called “Through the Glass,” only 19 days ago and has also released a track with AC Slater called “Attitude” one month ago. He has plans to play Lights All Night and then Audiotistic SoCal and Friendship Festival in January.

CODES

CODES is “New York’s underground house champion,” based out of NYC and making G house and bass house on Night Bass as well as Country Club Disco, Dirtybird, and Psycho Disco. He put out an EP called “Money” 6 months ago and has also released some new tracks on Dirtybird and Country Club Disco in the meantime. His most recent release was “Les Do This” on Holy Molé records just this month.
