Big changes are coming for this years Resonance Music And Arts Festival! The first major change was made at the beginning of the year when the festival announced its relocation from Legend Valley in Thornville, OH to Coopers Lake in Slippery Rock, PA. This major change in venue will give resonance a whole new look! New stages, art installations, campgrounds, scenery, everything! With more room to work with, more trees to play under, and endless artistic possibilities, this years Resonance is one you will not want to miss. Along with changes to the venue, Resonance made some changes to this years lineup as well as brought back some familiar faces for one of the best lineups yet.
Phase One
A little over a month ago Resonance Music And Arts Festival released the first phase of their 2019 lineup and it was already full of some heavy hitters! To kick things off Dave Tipper is making his return once again to Resonance with not one but two sets! Tycho will join him as a headliner and the boys behind the magic are back with four unique sets from Papadosio! The under card is already a thing of beauty as well with sets from Charlesthefirst, Chris Karns, Earthcry, The Omega Moos, Random Rab, The Polish Ambasador, Thriftworks, Mihali from Twiddle, and much, much more! Check out a closer look into some of the phase one artists HERE! This lineup is already enough to put on a great festival weekend but Resonance didn’t stop there! Not even close…
Phase Two
Since the release of phase one Resonance has kept our attention by slowly revealing more surprises and gems of this years lineup. The first addition to the lineup was details about one of Papadosio four sets. This year Papadosio will be performing a tribute set to the Gorillaz! I have a feeling that this is the start of something beautiful. Next Resonance added Bass DJ Psymbionic, downtempo DJ Bluetech, and electronic producer and all around kick ass musician Cloudchord! Resonance spiced things up when they revealed another headliner with two sets of Umphrey’s McGee! Brendan & Jake of Umphreys will also be putting on a special acoustic VIP set this weekend. (and a few other side projects from the UMPH team) It’s always a great weekend when Umphreys get involved! If that wasn’t enough Resonance also dropped bombs with three sets of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, the return of crowd favorite Dopapod, two sets of Tauk, and festival pros Big Something! This years Resonance lineup is one of the most talent filled lineups they have put together and one of the best of the summer. Below is a closer look into some of the new additions!
Cloudcord
Derek VanSoten, or Cloudcord, is an American music producer that has mastered multiple instruments and collaborated with countless bands over the years! Derek has also toured with bands including Big Gigantic, Beats Antique, Emancipator, and Lotus to name a few. This year Cloudcord will be making his way to Resonance to perform some of his solo music and potentially popping up in other sets! After all he has worked closely with this years headliners Tipper and Tycho before! Cloudcord is just one of the talented solo artists slotted to perform at this years Resonance!
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong
This funky band has been taking over the music festival world for the last ten years and are no strangers to hosting festivals themselves. For the last ten years Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have helped produce/ host DomeFest on legendary Marvin’s Mountaintop in West Virginia. They have also performed at festivals this year including Electric Forest, High Sierra, The Peach Music Fest and the upcoming Lockin’ and Hulaween Music Festivals! This high energy funk band will have you moving from start to finish with feel good jams and throw down funk hits. It’s great news hearing that they’ll be around for three sets this weekend!
Dopapod
After a lengthy hiatus lasting all of 2018, Dopapod is finally making their way back to festival stages and venues across the country! With an already crazy tour including shows at Disc Jam, The Peach Music Fest, The Werk Out, and other venues the band also just recently released their newest studio album titled ‘Emit Time’. After a year off to refresh and regroup the band is back and excited to perform their classic songs with a new twist as well as some never before heard music so expect to see a huge crowd to gather for this highly talented group! This will be one of the sets you do not want to miss! Check out their latest album below!
