Das Energi Festival Brought the Heat!

Das Energi Festival delivered a weekend full of entertainment for its fans, with renowned headliners, impressive stage designs, and a one of a kind experience. The Great Saltair Desert of Utah provided a thrilling backdrop for its rave patrons to explore the world of Das Energi. A safe haven of lasers and lights lit up the night as festival attendees danced to the beats of RL Grime, Seven Lions, Zeds Dead, Above & Beyond and more. With so much wonder and magic in the air, it’s easy to see why people traveled near and far to be a part of the energy.

The Talent

Each year Das Energi brings together a diverse lineup of artists across the electronic music spectrum. This year was no different as fans were able to see their favorite house, trance, dubstep, and bass acts all in one place. Rising dark techno star i_o made his Das Energi debut at sunset to an eager crowd, leaving everyone in amazement. RL Grime closed out the main stage on Friday, dropping his classic hits and some unreleased songs that will have fans dying in anticipation for their release. On Saturday, Zeds Dead did a full Deadbeats takeover on the second stage, showcasing the ability of their friends and peers. Acts such as Blunts & Blondes, Pax Impera and special guest Moody Good all left a strong impression on the crowd and a few broken necks. Fan favorites, Above & Beyond closed the festival main stage on Saturday, bringing together everyone for a beautiful set that could have drawn tears from the toughest of tough guys. Every artist on the lineup gave an amazing performance and helped add to the incredible energy of the festival.

The Stages

The stage designs at Das Energi Festival were breathtaking massive pieces of art that stood out amongst the Great Saltair Desert. The main stage located on the “Energi Fields” was referred to as the “Reactor” and captured the attention of the crowd, who looked in awe as fire, lasers, and lights burst from the stage. The second stage or “Synergy Station” was equally as enticing and provided a closer view of the stage and artist. The third stage known as the “Galactic Flats” acted as the spot for the local scene and drew a mob of ravers who came to support their friends. Fans seemed pleased with the no totems rule that allowed more people to be able to see all the production value. Beautiful and striking, all three stages made an impact on the crowd who were visibly shook by the detail and care put into the visual design.

The People

One of the best parts of any festival is the crowd that attends and Das Energi Festival was full of people with the right vibe. Smiles and happy faces could be seen all day and night as friendships were made and connections created. A special moment occurred during Seven Lions set when a man bravely got on his knee and proposed to his girlfriend, energizing the whole party with his love. Another special moment happened when a lucky group of friends that traveled all the way from Hawaii were chosen by Above & Beyond to come on stage and push the button. Witnessing these once in a lifetime events cast a spell over the crowd, enchanting them with positivity and euphoria that lasted all weekend.

Das Energi Festival proved once again why it stands strong in the electronic music festival scene. From the music to the art to the experience, every little part added to one big ball of energy.
