In less than two weeks Miami is about to get LOUD! Hard Rock Stadium is once again hosting the east coast’s biggest weekend for hip-hop and rap as Rolling Loud celebrates its 5th anniversary. Tickets this year sold out in record time, showcasing how popular this festival has become. Hopeful attendees did have a chance to put their name on a waitlist for the release of additional tickets. Were you one of the lucky few?
Regardless if you were or not, we’re here to help you prepare for what is bound to be one of most talked about Rolling Loud events in history. The lineup alone is stacked, as we’ve told you with top acts, both old and new. Where have you been able to see Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, The Migos, Cardi B, Lil Wayne, Lil Pump, Blueface, Lil Baby, Tyga, and 21 Savage within 3 days? These are just a few of the artists to get hyped about. Trust us when we say the lineup rolls deep.
Now we’ve given you 5 artists to not sleep on in this lineup already. We want to add a few to that list which we have discovered thanks to the Rolling Loud Spotify playlist and scanning the line-up a few more times. Plus, we added some tips on fun activities to do while there for the festival.
Acts To Check Out
Higher Brothers
The Higher Brothers come straight out of Cali and mix rap with Asian fusion. I’ll openly admit, I stumbled across them while listening to New Music Friday on Spotify. This group has tight beats, a clean flow, and know how to get a crowd rowdy. They are a MUST SEE at the festival! We wouldn’t be surprised if the group invites Ski Mask the Slump God, Denzel Curry, and or J.I.D. on stage to perform their hit collabs. Expect to see this group make their way higher up the bill in upcoming festivals this year.
Young M.A.
Ooooooohhhh. That’s all I have to say any time I hear or see the name Young M.A. The female rapper out of Brooklyn knows how to make a crowd feel it with a deep, boom-bap style beats. Certain artists you can always remember the first time you heard them and you will never forget it. Young M.A. and I became introduced one night out at a hookah bar with friends. Her music was the perfect vibe for the night. It’s rare to see her on a line up so jump on this opportunity while you can.
Extracurricular Activities
Most people go to festivals for the music and sometimes forget about the overall experience DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE! Miami has been heavily intertwined with hip-hop culture for decades.
FingaLicking
First, if you need a place to eat stop by the DJ Khaled owned restaurant Finga Licking. Since it’s opening in 2015, it has grown to 5 locations around the Miami area. The Miami Gardens location is only 8 minutes away from Hard Rock Stadium and will fulfill all your food and music cravings. If you do stop make sure to try the lemon pepper wings with mac and cheese and yams. Wash this deliciousness down with a Mystery Drink, or a Dirty Mystery Drink if you want to start your fade early. Treat yourself to Soul Food for the Stars. Check out the full spread, merch, and other locations on The Licking website.
Wynwood
If you’re familiar with the Miami area you are aware of the Wynwood art district. Artists are encouraged to display their talent throughout the area for all to see. People have contributed artwork dedicated to everything from Native Americans to Mickey Mouse. You will also find some odes to hip-hop OG’s Snoop Dogg, Tupac, and Biggie Smalls. Take some time to walk around and explore, especially the Wynwood Walls. If you get hungry stop by Coyo Taco located on 2nd Avenue to chow down on fresh authentic Mexican food.
Get Braidified
This one is mainly for my ladies out there. We put a lot of effort into our outfits for festival season. I personally, always make sure my look is on point from head to toe, yes hairstyle included. The biggest trend out there for us festival girls is getting colorful braids and you can do that locally in Miami. If you want to be adventurous check out Get Braidified, and get your Rolling Loud look on point. Locals to the Miami area can book to get your hair done or purchase clip-ins to DIY. Highly recommended by many veteran festival attendees, this is a must. Check out the shop HERE and previous work HERE on Instagram.
After Parties
If you’re feeling up to keeping the party going and want to explore Miami nightlife, E11EVEN is the place for you. This night club is more than your average club scene. Not only do you have VIP and GA but you can get bottle service, dinner, and see dancers all in one. If you want to ball out, this is the place to do it. Thursday (5/9) – Sunday (5/12), E11EVEN will be open 24 hours for special Rolling Loud after parties. Artists were officially announced today, and they do not disappoint. YG will kick off the weekend on Thursday night. Followed by The Migos and Travis Scott on Friday and Saturday. Tyga will bring that sweet taste to your mouth as he closes out the festivities on Sunday night. Tickets, tables, and dinner can all be purchased HERE.
Now, we do have other after party options, if you just want a straightforward club scene and maybe are balling on a budget. Story is also hosting Rolling Loud after parties Thursday – Sunday. Artists have not be announced for Thursday but are noted to be “Special Guests.” Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, on the other hand, are going to get WILD. 21 Savage with DaBaby will be headlining on Friday night (5/10). Respectively, on the Saturday (5/11) and Sunday (5/12) Lil Wayne and Lil Baby x Blueface will be taking Story on a wild ride with their music. Tickets for all these events are only $40 and well worth it. Purchase tickets for any of the 4 events HERE.
While we laid out a few things to do around Miami, there is still a lot to be explored. Trust us when we say, we know how busy festival weekends get but we’re all there for the experience. If you still want to participate in all the Rolling Loud fun you can still purchase tickets HERE.
Take the time to explore, indulge in the culture, and party in the city where the heat is on all night on the beach til the break of dawn.
Welcome to Miami.
