We’re one week out from one of the biggest events in Mexico – EDC. Hosted at the Autodromo (or Raceway) in Mexico City, this event brings in thousands of attendees over two days from February 23-24. EDC Mexico boasts five stages, plus a few art cars and the Upside Down House, a smaller stage that features local DJs.
The Kinetic Field is the massive main stage, featuring the biggest headliners and an incredible stage set up and light production. The lasers on this stage are out of this world. The Circuit Grounds are located on a big piece of asphalt in the middle of the festival. This stage hosts all the trance and psytrance and also has a handful of house and bass DJs. WasteLAND is the next biggest, and has LED screens in both the front and back creating an almost enclosed experience. This stage was all hardstyle, dnb and bass music the whole weekend. At the very back of the festival is the Dos Equis stage – the only stage sponsored by a brand. Not that many people found their way back here, but this was my favorite stage of the whole weekend. It was on a big patch of grass and had amazing tech house and bass house artists all weekend. The last stage was the Neon Garden, or the techno tent. This stage is probably the smallest in size, but had some amazing big name artists on it like Adam Beyer. This stage was pumping dark, dirty techno for most of the weekend.
