7 Reasons Envision Festival is More Than Worth the Trip To Costa Rica

Nestled between the jungle and the beach, Envision Festival is a awakening of the soul. Through an emphasized focus on it’s pillars of movement, spirituality, music, radical acceptance, community, permaculture, health, and art, it is so much more than just a music festival. During the day your mind and body are enlightened through their workshops and yoga classes. After opening your conscious and learning you can head to the beach to cheer with thousands as the sun sets into the night. Then you can dance under the jungle canopy until the sun rises.

There are so many reasons I will be making the trip down to Costa Rica again but here are just a few:

1. Sunsets on the Beach

There is no denying the beauty of the Costa Rican sunsets. It’s even more magical experiencing it with thousands of other souls. Every night like clockwork attendees make their way down to the beach to celebrate the ending of the day and prepare for the night to come. As the sun begins to descend, the sky fills with oranges, pinks, and purples. Drum circles begin to form. Everyone throws their hands in the air, howling and cheering as the sun disappears beyond the horizon. This is one of my favorite parts of this festival. On the last night, I was definitely a little teary-eyed knowing it was my last sunset.

2. Learn from Witches

The Witches Village Healing Sanctuary is one of the most unique aspects of the event. You can grab an herbal elixir from the bar, take a sound healing class, or listen to a workshop on eastern herbal medicinal care. Expand your mind by learning about traditional and alternative healing practices rooted in environmentalism and pagan spirituality. Last year I sat in on a few classes that really opened me up to how food and herbs can be used as a powerful tool for our bodies. The elixirs, full of herbal and natural goodness, also brought me back to the last day.

3. See the Future of Festing

Imagine a world where festivals made no negative impact to the environment? Envision is living in that world. The festival empowers it’s guests to focus on finding harmony with the festival grounds. That means no single use and recycling everything possible. Last year once I finished setting up my tent I headed over to the food area to grab something. I ordered a burrito and was handed one on a banana leaf instead of a plate. From the bamboo stages to planting over 10,000 trees to renting reusable cups the festival works to make every aspect of operations as sustainable as possible. They even won an award for it!

4. Watch Your Favorite Artist on the Most Unique Stages

The stages not only immaculate and beautiful to look at, they also are constructed through the most sustainable methods. All of the bamboo is sources within a 20-mile radius of the site from 8 bamboo farms. So while you are watching incredible light shows being projection mapped onto the grand stage you can dance with peace of mind knowing it was crafted with minimal ecological impact.

5. Did we mention the lineup?!

No photo description available.

Enough said. Every time I look I get excited about another name. From the deep house of the Lapa Stage to the funk that will grace the main stage this year, there is a little bit for everyone and a whole lot to discover.

6. La Selva

All around you is the natural wonder of, la selva (the jungle). In the mornings you are awoken to the sounds of birds flying through the trees. There is even a family of monkeys passing by from time to time. Whether you are in the campgrounds or walking from stage to stage the lush greenery engulfs the entire festival site.

7. That Feeling of Deep Connection

More so than any other festival I have been to, Envision really pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me connect to people in new ways. If you zoom in really close to left side of this picture you can see my profile. This was after an acro-yoga class where I even lifted someone up with my hands and feet! Maybe it was being so far away from home, maybe it was the ethos of the festival, maybe it was the people there, maybe it was all of the above but I left feeling more connected to others than ever before.

Envision Festival will take place in Uvita, Costa Rica from February 28th to March 3rd. Tickets and camping packages can be purchased here
