Last weekend marked the start of Transmission festival’s latest world-class production: ‘The Awakening.’ Unlocking the latest chapter of the world-renowned trance event, thousands of dedicated fans from across the globe gathered in Prague’s O2 Arena for a night of unbelievable sounds and sights. Vision Impossible teamed up with the event yet again to provide one of the most incredible light shows in the world and perfectly complimented the unique sounds. Here’s what I loved about Transmission Prague 2018.

THE VENUE

O2 Arena has been home to the annual trance festival for over a decade and continues to act as the perfect venue for the event. Located only a short train ride away from the city center, the easily accessible venue had more than enough space to accommodate for thousands of fans. With a spacious dance floor, as well as seating surrounding the stage, and an outdoor dining area, the arena perfectly accommodated for all ravers.

THE PRODUCTION

Known for their world-class production, it goes without saying that the entire crowd was blown away by the light show put on by Vision Impossible. With laser beams hitting every last corner of the arena, flames at every drop, and fireworks raining down on the regular, this was easily one of the best productions I have seen at any event in the world!

THE MUSIC

Featuring eight of the biggest names in the scene, this year’s edition of Transmission showcased some of the greatest talents the trance world has to offer. Here are my top three sets from the night.

ABOVE & BEYOND

Fresh from their ABGT300 festivities in Hong Kong, the English trio recently kicked off the European leg of their Group Therapy tour with a quick stop in Prague. Known for their unique euphoric sounds and creating a ‘common ground’ in the scene, the group put on an incredibly moving performance that had the entire crowd singing along.

MARKUS SCHULZ

With the release of his latest album We Are The Light, Markus Schulz returned to the Transmission stage to present his latest creations. The creator of the 2018 Transmission anthem featured 75 minutes of anthems, classics, and new music. Ending the show with his album titled track “We Are The Light,” thousands of fans joined in in lighting up the arena as they shared the special moment on the dance floor.

VINI VICI

Israeli psytrance duo Vini Vici stole the show with their captivating performance. With their chart-topping hits and festival anthems, their unique tribal sound was perfectly complimented with 75 minutes of pure lasers. They left the entire arena with their jaws on the ground. The unparalleled production has since gone viral with their incredible performance reaching all corners of the internet.

After over a decade of spectacular visuals, lights, sounds, and lasers, Transmission Festival has proven yet again why they remain as one of the biggest and best events in the world. With an unparalleled production and annual star-studded lineup to match, this event will no doubt continue to expand with years to come.
