He’s released chart toppers like Be Ok Again, High You Are, Lone and many more, while also remixing and collaborating with artists like Major Lazer, Peking Duk and others. There are so many reasons why everyone should listen to and love What So Not, but here are a few of our favorite reasons why we love him the most!

  1. What So Not & Flume

What So Not was formerly a duo with fellow Aussie, Flume (no wonder why we love What So Not so much), but is now solo record producer, Emoh Instead (Chris Emerson). What started as two young, talented musicians, turned into an extraordinary duo through one our favorite music sites, SoundCloud. His music isn’t what you would normally imagine when you think of electronic dance music, but that’s what makes What So Not so special and phenomenal. Emoh’s music has a little bit of hip hop, trap, bass, house and experimental sounds that you on a ride each time.

  1. US and International Shows

Not only does he tour the US but all around the world, playing at various festivals, including Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (Indio, CA), Lost Cities Festival (Sydney, Australia), Lollapalooza (US and non US) and many more!

  1. OWSLA & Sweat It Out Label

He releases records through Skrillex’s, OWSLA label, who puts on incredible shows and events where many artists make special guest appearances like Diplo, Skrillex, AC Slater and Dillon Francis. Sweat It Out record label has signed many amazing artists like Wax Motif, Rufus Du Sol and Anna Lunoe.

  1. The Music

As said before, his music is like no other. Not only does he create his own songs and music that are out of this world, but he also does incredible remixes of artists songs like Rufus Du Sol, GTA, George Maple and many more. If you haven’t heard his 7 Dollar Bill EP or The Quack EP, you should definitely listen. These are some of his (and Flume’s) first tracks!
