H-Town, aka Houston, Texas. Home of the 2017 World Series Champions Houston Astros and chopped and screwed music. Now home to In Bloom Festival, formally known as Free Press Summer Fest, is set to take place March 24-25, 2018. As the festival is still months away not many details have been released regarding the event other than the lineup. However, Eleanor Tinsley Park is setup to bring a unique crowd together for the early spring affair. I say unique because of the headliners: Beck, Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, and Martin Garrix.
Personally, I’m more excited about many of the undercard artists, especially the rap and DJ’s: Lil Uzi Vert, Gramatik, 21 Savage, Ganja White Night, and Shiba San. Other than the artists listed, there are still numerous talented acts on the lineup filling the four stages throughout the festival. Not to mention the possibility of more lineup drops or surprise guest artists since it is set in Houston. Wishful thinking always helps. In 2017 my Texas festivals were a solid 2/2 with Lights All Night in Dallas for New Year’s and Euphoria in Austin. I hope to continue the trend and make my Texas festivals 3/3 with In Bloom next spring.
