One thing is for certain, Imagine Festival has booked another killer lineup. Music is scheduled to start at 5 pm daily in light of the miscommunication between the festival and Mother Nature last year. In case you haven’t seen one of the many planes flying over festivals this season, Imagine Festival is returning to Atlanta Motor Speedway September 22nd-24th for its second year of CAMPING. I think everyone should camp, cough cough. Georgia is base to A LOT of established and upcoming musicians across several genres. Here are a few local artists to look out for at Imagine this year:
Halogen is an Atlanta based DJ duo who met in college years ago at Georgia Tech. Now Alex and Josh are house music producers performing on the same ticket as other industry leading artists. Halogen is on fire coming of their release of the perfect summer vibe track with “Can’t Resist.” Keeping that momentum going, they just dropped another banger with “U Got That” which will leave you cutting shapes on dance floor. If you are in the Atlanta area you should check out Halogen opening up for Alan Walker at Opera Nightclub just weeks before Imagine.
Robbie Dude aka Robbie Beck is another Georgia bred artist based out of Athens, GA. His style can be described in so many ways: futuristic, hip hop, electro-soul, funky freshness are just a few adjectives. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform last year at Zen Awakening. I hear your clothes says a lot about a person. Last time I saw Robbie Dude he was wearing a sweet throwback cartoon shirt. Some of his influences include: Michael Menert, Pretty Lights, Bonobo, Big Gigantic, Gramatik, and Bassnectar.
EXIT 9 is an interesting individual. I have had the opportunity to see him in action from many different points of view. Festival producer, DJ, working a festival, and chilling at festivals are some of the different instances I’ve experienced with Demarr Brown aka EXIT 9. He’s a crazy talented guy who has energy for days. He is another artists who explores the different realms to make dance inducing music. He mixes electronic music ranging from transformational/psy bass to trip hop and dubstep. If you’re lucky, you might find EXIT 9 performing around Atlanta as well.
These fan favorites have made names for themselves already; you can see it in the crowd support. You can find out more about each artists on their Facebook and Soundcloud pages. If you like to get down surely you’ll enjoy these three artists at Imagine!
