With less than a week to go, I am head over heels excited about my first upcoming experience in the Big Apple for Electric Zoo 2017.  Organizing my costumes and making new ones has kept me in a crafting frenzy. Organizing the costumes was the easy part of this adventure. I have never visited New York, and I am making this trip with my best friend. We have our flights booked, hotel booked, and several festival friends who have become like family joining us on the journey. I’m so excited I even made matching tee shirts for our rave fam. #nerdalert. Ezoo is every New York raver’s favorite festival. Many friends I have met through festing are ambassadors for the festival and look forward to it every year.

The stage layouts have been released and they look phenomenal. I can’t wait to see myself in the middle of a city, with themed stages. I’m positive it will be breathtaking.

A huge elephant for the Mainstage, (YAS!!!!) a subway theme for Hilltop Arena, an ocean theme for the Riverside Stage, an industrial warehouse vibe for Awakenings Stage, and finally, a street art themed stage for 6 Points. I can’t wait to overload my phone with amazing photos of the stages, the people and the sights!

With so many amazing artists on the lineup, conflicts are bound to happen. Luckily some of the most exciting acts this year are a 2 for 1 deal.  After much deliberation, I decided to get my ticket thanks to one dynamic duo, Sasha and Digweed. This past year at Ultra they played during a torrential downpour, and I wouldn’t mind a drier do-over. Those of us who survived Ultra 2017 ASOT stage can attest to the magic of their set. Trance legends Aly & Fila are also on my “can’t miss” list. The driving beats of the Future Sound of Egypt pioneers will have no problem whipping the Riverside Stage into a frenzy. When mentioning duos one can’t forget to mention the obvious powerhouse team of Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz. Reuniting once again for what’s sure to be a legendary set, the B2B pits the calculated buildups Deadmau5 is famous for with the soaring sounds of Eric Prydz.

Other than what is likely the best lineup from Electric Zoo in years, New York itself is a city brimming with amazing sights, and activities that will keep even the most experienced traveler satiated. I definitely won’t be missing the obvious tourist destinations like the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, and Chinatown during my visit.

Having serious FOMO yet? Tickets are still available here for you last minute ravers. Look for me at Awakenings and the Riverside Stage! I’ll be there with bells on, and I look forward to meeting all you animals!
