ill.Gates has been on the scene for years helping pioneer the way for deep and edgy bass music. He has a dedicated fan base that is growing increasingly larger with his ongoing success. He has worked with bass music heavyweights such as Bassnectar, Datsik, Mimosa, and many more. In fact, if you’re a crazed basshead like myself, you might have seen Instagram photos from both ill.Gates and Bassnectar in November stating that the pair were, “back in the labs”. Seemingly creating what we can only imagine to be pure musical ecstasy. Finally, here we are- we get to dive into this album that we, bassheads, have been long anticipating.
The title says it all- Terminally iLL. ill.Gates dropped his full length album,Terminally iLL, just last week after a construction process of nearly three years. On the heels of his EPs Bounce and More Tea, ill.Gates delivers what can only be described as a visceral listening experience. The listener is taken on a journey through powerful bass lines and strong melodies that force us to sing out loud. This album shows a new facet to ill.Gates’ already prolific bass creativity. Terminally.iLL focuses on a ‘feel-good’ vibe and we are LOVING it! The album has already hit #1 in dubstep, glitch hop, and R&B on Beatport. Talk about a ton of variety in one album.
