North Coast Music Festival announced its full and complete lineup yesterday, and I’ve been all smiles ever since. Now in its seventh year, the festival continues to bring the best and brightest of musical talent to Chicago’s Union Park with acts running the genre gamut from hip hop to funk and jam bands to dance music.
Funk fiends will be thrilled to find that Umphrey’s McGee, who headlined the first installment of the festival in 2009, are making a historic comeback this year. Representing other areas of the musical spectrum are explosive trap star Baauer, and Dirtybird deep house darling Justin Jay.
We at Festival Squad are especially excited to reconnect with artists we’ve covered in the past, including Brillz, Zomboy, and Hotel Garuda. Personally, I’m stoked to feast my ears on the sounds of Grouplove (fun fact: I’m currently wearing a Spreading Rumours tank), and Detroit-based duo Golf Clap.
Who are YOU most excited to see at this year’s North Coast? Reach out to us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to let us know! We’ll see you there!
