Get Lucky is an annual St. Patrick’s Day festival in Utah, held at the Great Saltair. This year, it was held on March 8th and 9th. V2 Presents holds this festival every year, and every year the lineup gets better and better. V2 Presents is the leading EDM promoter in Utah behind great events such as Das Energi and Decadence SLC. With two stages and a huge variety of artists, this was a great way to spend your weekend with your festival squad!

The Venue

The venue itself is great—held right on the Great Saltair. The parking at this venue was pretty convenient. Although you did have to pay $10 to park each night, there was parking available right outside the venue each night. In addition, there was overflow parking shuttling festival-goers to and from the venue. The festival was open from 7PM to 2AM (or technically 3AM on Sunday because of daylight savings).

The Stages

There was an indoor stage called The Celtic Palace with two floors and vendors inside. In addition, there was an outdoor second stage called The Tent of Gold. The sound was incredible all throughout the venue; you could be upstairs in the corner and feel the bass in the walls. Both stages also had incredible visuals throughout the sets, as well as dancers, hoopers and poi spinners. Although SLC was experiencing winter weather those two days, the fans definitely showed up and still had a great time! Day 2 ended up being completely sold out. So fans would endure both cold nights for some unforgettable sets at Tent of Gold.

Lucky Surprises

Bro Safari was unable to make it due to medical reasons. However, Get Lucky pulled through by bringing Svdden Death to fill the spot! Svdden Death put on a great show, especially coming at the last minute—and during his set, he also previewed the next single he will be releasing!

As far as other surprises during the festival—Liquid Stranger is currently on his Infinity Tour and we were lucky enough to experience it here at Get Lucky. He brought out the whole crew from the Infinity tour to play during his set. This included Champagne Drip (who had a set night one) LSDREAM (who played before him), as well as G Rex and Lucii.

Set Favorites

The headliners (Borgore and Rezz) put on a great show and lived up to their hype, living up to the high standards from people traveling out of state to see them. Although we were impressed with every set that we were able to catch, some other favorites from the weekend included 13, Malixe and LSDREAM! Since the stages had staggered set times by a few minutes, you had the chance to at least catch a few minutes of who was playing at the other stage, if you were interested in the artists at both stages.

Although some items were not allowed inside due to security reasons, people still found ways to express their creativity. From a giant stuffed leprechaun to glitter beards and full-on glitter suits, the St. Patrick’s day spirit was definitely celebrated.
