Hailing from Austin, Texas, Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed formed the electronic duo, Tritonal, in 2008. Since then they have produced over 200 original productions and remixes. Their first album, Piercing the Quiet, was released in 2011. In 2013, they announced that they would be teaming up with Will Holland as co-owners and directors on the label Enhanced Music. As recently as October 2018, they announced that they would be releasing a new album in 2019. Fans have long awaited a new full-length album since their last one, Painting With Dreams, came out in 2016.

Tritonal originally began their career by releasing songs that fit into the trance genre. One of their first songs “Lights Over Austin” was chosen by Above & Beyond in 2008 to be featured on their Anjunabeats Volume Six compilation. The duo even hosted 100 episodes of their own trance radio show, Air Up There. The last episode aired live in Austin, TX on Sirius XM on December 8, 2013. They soon after launched a new radio station, Tritonia, and reassured fans that it would still be the same high-quality show they expected but with a little more variety.

“Although it will no longer be called Air Up There, fans should be reassured that we are still going to produce the same high-quality show with the latest and greatest tracks in trance, progressive, house and electro in 2013,” says Tritonal’s Dave Reed.

Their music has now grown to be much more diverse. The duo has captured a wide range of sounds; from their collaboration with Seven Lions and Kill Noise, “Horizon”, to their single “Until You Were Gone” with the Chainsmokers and Emily Warren, to now their leading single off their third studio album, “U Found Me”. So far, they have released 3 out of 7 songs off of their new album, “U & Me” which is set to be released “Early 2019”, according to their website.

A Message to Fans

When they first made the announcement about their album back in October, they also included a message for their fans about the meaning of the new title:

“The title for our latest full-length album U & ME is a very simple pointer towards Unity & Love that we feel is inherent in life itself. Ultimately, we are all connected — in fact everything in the Universe is connected. Music allows us to express that connection through sound. There is so much inherent divisiveness in our culture today and we wanted to flip the “you vs me” or the “us vs them” dialogue on its head. Hopefully, our music can act as a light that shines upon one simple truth — love.”

Now in support of their upcoming album, the duo has been on tour across the US. The tour kicked off in Portland in January and will end in Tampa at the end of March. Festival Squad was lucky enough to catch them when they stopped at the Gothic Theater in Denver!
