Marshmello Holds First Ever In-Game Show In Fortnite

This past weekend, Marshmello made history by being the first person to hold an in-game concert within Fortnite. Fortnite released special skins, emotes, and more just for the event. Because of the popularity of the first show, Marshmello even put on an encore performance later that night.

Days before the event, players could see the stage at Pleasant Park being built and trucks bringing in supplies. The game kicked off the hype with themed challenges and more leading up to the show. Players were rewarded with Marshmello themed stickers, emotes, skins and more.

Reports have said nearly 10 million players logged onto the game for the event. This does not include those watching on streaming services or those who watched during the encore performance. Since this was such a success, we can only hope to see more events like this in the future.

We’ve seen something similar to this happen within Minecraft with it’s recent “Fire Fest”. Could virtual shows become something of the future?
