After taking a bit of a hiatus, Skrillex is returning to North America for a short New Year’s Eve run. Contact Festival will be his first stop. Supporting him is a mixture of performers from all over the world, from local Vancouver DJ MYNXY to Swedish duo Galantis. Here is a sampling of five of the artists you can find at Contact Festival this December.

Skrillex

An artist that needs no introduction, Sonny John Moore aka Skrillex, will be returning to North America for the first time since May. He will be doing a mini New Year’s Eve tour with stops in Vancouver, Minnesota, Arizona, and Denver. After the release of his sensational hit with Habstrakt, “Chicken Soup,” it is unclear if we can expect dubstep or house from him.

Galantis

Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw, the duo who takes the stage as Galantis, have not released a full album this year but they’ve kept fans happy with some major singles. This year “Spaceship” featuring Uffie, “Satisfied,” and “Mama Look At Me Now” both featuring Max Schneider, have been taking over the airways.

Alison Wonderland

Alexandra Sholler, aka Alison Wonderland, delighted fans all over the globe when she released her second studio album, Awake, earlier this year. The album was deeply emotional and features vocals from Sholler herself. This year she also started playing the cello in her sets, adding more live elements to her high energy performances.

NGHTMRE

In just four short years, Tyler Marenyi aka NGHTMRE, has gone from remixing Skrillex and Tiësto to dropping his own EP and touring all over the world. Before pursuing music and moving to Los Angeles he received a degree in Finance from Elon University in North Carolina.

Troyboi

Troy Henry, aka Troyboi, has had a huge year. From playing at Coachella to EDC China, he has been non-stop touring and dropping new music. Earlier this year he dropped his V!BEZ Vol. 1 EP and recently he released his newest single, “Frustrated”. We were fortunate enough to catch up with him earlier this year at Envision Festival to discuss how he is creating his own lane in the music industry.
