After making my way to festivals all over Europe, I have finally reached my final destination for the summer: Dream Village. The three-day festival saw a wide range of local and international artists spread out across seven unique ‘districts’. My favourite stage was District 1, the home of the harder styles, which hosted some of the biggest names in the scene. One thing that stood out to me was the number of duos I noticed on stage. From established duos such as Sub Zero Project to new and exclusive b2b’s such as Adrenalize and Devin Wild, this weekend was all about showing the world the power of a dynamic duo! Here are my top three duo sets from Dream Village 2018.

DA TWEEKAZ

The party starters from Norway have consistently impressed me throughout the festival season and this weekend was no different. Known for their energetic and unpredictable sets, Da Tweekaz is always the life of the party. Upon arriving at the festival, I was shocked to see that the entire rail was empty and the crowd was spread out quite far from the stage. It only took a couple of minutes of Da Tweekaz to draw a crowd and before I knew it, the entire rail was filled! In addition to their crazy performance, the duo is known for being one of the most interactive artists with their fans and I was able to watch them go out to the crowd and meet fans both before and after their set!

D-BLOCK & S-TE-FAN

Known for their melodic sounds and festival classics, Dutch duo D-Block & S-te-fan kept the party going all afternoon with a mixture of old and new tracks. Their typically eerie themed songs such as Ghost Stories and Twilight Zone perfectly encompassed the story of the seven districts, taking the entire crowd on a unique journey. These guys have been at the forefront of hard dance music and ended the festival season perfectly!

SOUND RUSH

The next generation of Hardstyle DJs is here and Sound Rush is ready to take on the world! Collaborating with some of the veterans in the scene such as Headhunterz and Villain, it’s obvious that ‘there is no where they’d rather be’! Despite the smaller crowd on Sunday afternoon, these brothers continued to bring all of their energy on stage and put on an incredible show for their die-hard fans and anyone else who came along!

OVERALL

The typically Dutch style festival combined impeccable organisation with a strong lineup filled with everyone’s favourites to create an amazing event. The story of the seven districts was represented perfectly and the closing ceremony ended the chapter perfectly. Overall, this festival was the perfect way to end the European festival season.
