Music Midtown is once again returning to Piedmont Park September 15th and 16th. The event has been bringing some of the biggest names in music to Atlanta since 1994. It will also showcase some of the best food trucks and vendors Atlanta has to offer.

This year, the festival line up features a mixture of rock, pop rock, hip-hop, electronic, folk, indie rock, and rap. Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons, Post Malone, and Fall Out Boy will headline this years event. Supporting acts like Khalid, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Gucci Mane, Janelle Monáe, Portugal. The Man, the Revivalists, and many more.

This year’s headliners are some of the biggest names in rap and rock today. Whether it has been 3 or 9 years, each of these artists have grown their humble beginnings in to successful music careers. We are spotlighting their journey by highlighting their first and last video uploaded to YouTube.

Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar started making music as a teenager under the name K-Dot. Now he makes Pulitzer Prize winning records (Damn) and chart-topping singles (Humble).

Imagine Dragons

The band has been active since 2008, but really gained popularity from the release of their single, It’s Time, in 2011. Their song, Radioactive, holds the record for most weeks charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Today they are world touring Grammy award winning musicians.

Post Malone

Austin Richard Post, aka Post Malone, gained notoriety at the age of 20 when his song, White Iverson, went quadruple-platinum. This year his single, Rockstar, with 21 Savage rose to the number one spot Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Fall Out Boy

The band emerged in 2001 from Chicago’s hardcore punk scene. They took a brief break from 2009-2013. They are back together and released their 8th studio album, Mania, this year. In recent years they have also done collaborations with Migos and Wiz Khalifa.
