In 1997, the San Francisco rock band better known as Third Eye Blind released their self-titled album. 11 years later, you can find me screaming the words to “How’s It Going To Be” inside the Grand Sierra Resort theater in Reno, NV. The truth is, Third Eye Blind has always been one of my go-to bands. The nostalgia consumes me as I close my eyes in the crowd, and remember the late nights where I would throw in my headphones and listen to their classic tracks before drifting off to sleep. Don’t get me wrong, I am one of the first people to tell you how great a future-bass producer is, or how trap can give you life at 2 am when you feel bedtime coming on.
But, there is something truly special when a band you love takes the stage. It makes it even better when it’s a band that has pulled at your heartstrings for years. Lead singer Stephan Jenkins has been with the band since inception and continues to captivate the entire audience.
The band What makes me even happier than seeing the crowd go wild to “Jumper”, is knowing that these musicians are not currently on tour. But instead, they’re on a festival run around the United States. They’ve hit Bunbury Music Festival, Governors Ball, and Clusterfest so far this season.
If you’re headed to any of the following festivals, I highly suggest that you make a pit stop and see Third Eye Blind:
- Arroyo Seco June 23 – June 24 (Pasadena, CA)
- Comstock Rock Festival July 20 – July 22 (Comstock, NE)
- Lost Lake Festival October 19 – October 21 (Phoenix)
The band puts on a killer performance and can truly take you back to the late 90’s or whenever it was that you first heard one of their songs. They even have new songs ready for the crowd. So put on your favorite tight jeans, bring a tissue and get ready to rock out with the legendary group, better known as Third Eye Blind.
