My very first out-of-state festival. The festival where I danced on stage with M83. The festival I did my first interview at. The festival where I saw a glimpse of my dream becoming a reality. The festival where someone I barely knew gave me the best festival experience of my life. Needless to say, Firefly Music Festival holds a near and dear place in my heart. So many of my favorite memories were made there, and I am beyond excited to be going back for a third time to celebrate two crazy years of working with Festival Squad.
Returning for its 7th year, Firefly Music Festival is bringing a lineup filled with headliners of your wildest dreams to the Woodlands. Arctic Monkeys, Foster the People, Eminem, The Killers, Logic, Big Gigantic, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Martin Garrix, ODESZA, SZA, and so many more.
While getting to see The Killers, Foster the People, Arctic Monkeys, and Kendrick Lamar is enough to make me scream, there’s one artist on this lineup that sealed the deal right away for me.
Electro pop and psychedelic rock, MGMT, will be hitting the Firefly stages this summer, and I can’t think of a better place to dance along to “Electric Feel.” I really got into MGMT‘s music at the beginning of last year, and was fortunate enough to catch their first and third show back after a four year break. Their set at Hangout Music Festival 2017 never fails to put a smile on my face whenever I think about it. Performing songs off of their new album, Little Dark Age, as well as classics like “Kids,” “Time to Pretend,” and “Electric Feel,” I imagine the crowd at Firefly looking a lot like Kid Cudi at Coachella 2014.
