John Schramm, otherwise known as Statik, is a guitarist/producer based out of Chicago that is known for his funky, bassy, upbeat style of music. With a classical rock background, Schramm developed a deep fascination with exploring music. From learning how to play guitar and drums to playing producer and engineer for budding MC’s, Statik found the world of electronic music.
Currently working with Mammoth Music Group, who also supports artists such as Pretty Lights, Manic Focus, Papdosio, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and SoDown, Statik has taken the stage at numerous festivals such as Summer Camp Music Festival, Spring Awakening, and North Coast Music Festival. One of Manic Focus’s tracks off of Minds Rising features Statik and is one of my personal favorites from thew album.
Even Emancipator remixed this song!
Statik has taken the stage as an opener for artists such as Pretty Lights, GRiZ, and Gramatik and is an upcoming artist that you shouldn’t be missing! His most recent EP, ‘Signal Theory’, has a combination of horns, guitar riffs, and his own unique style of producing his own sound. Watch the promo video for ‘Signal Theory’ below:
Wait a minute…a new song?!
Just what we have all been waiting for…a new Statik song released today! Just in time for Summer Camp Music Festival this weekend! Sun Warden features Kromuh and it is quite the track to help kick start your day! The guitar riffs mixed in with a funky beat makes me want to get up out of my seat and jam out! With an audio sample of Charlie Chaplin’s “A Message For All Humanity“, it adds a nice message for the track. I cannot wait for this song to be played live for the crowd to see their reactions this weekend.
With songs like Sun Warden, this will make his Summer Camp Music Festival set an absolute heater! You don’t want to miss his set; he is taking the stage at on May 27th from 12am-1am at the Pyramid Stage!
