The Day Club series occurring both Weekend One and Weekend Two of Coachella at the Hilton Palm Springs proved to be the ideal way to spend a warm desert afternoon. For those who didn’t make Coachella happen this year, these events were the perfect teaser to convince us to partake in the full experience next year.
Doting the opportunity to see notable Coachella headliners like Odesza and Illenium in a more intimate setting, Day Club provided a much-needed reprieve from the Coachella FOMO. Granted, it is no replacement for the festival, but when Coachella just isn’t in the cards for you, Day Club is a valid option to consider for your #Nochella itinerary. Even though the event took place on a sole pool deck, interactive brand activations were alive on the property and made Day Club a livelier event than your everyday pool party. Day Club attendees received basically unlimited samples of Peets coffee, Rosé flavored vodka (still shocked by that one) and 3D photo booth snapshots.
At the Foreign Family affair on Saturday of Weekend 2, we were lucky enough to witness a dreamy and rare, Odesza DJ set that serenaded us with Odesza power-players and empowering throwbacks. And yes, by empowering throwbacks I mean that Harrison and Clayton allowed us all to belt out Hollaback Girl like there was no tomorrow. This set was exactly what we needed and further showed just how versatile Odesza is. It was a great reminder that the beauty of an hour with Odesza is still present, even when the drones and drum lines are not.
