Phoenix is notorious for hot weather, good eats, and impressive sunsets. Brought to you by Relentless Beats, Phoenix Lights is returning for its second year, upholding the city’s standard for stacked line-ups with this year’s festival bill.
Between Lost Lake Festival and Goldrush Festival, Phoenix Lights is the latest to impress. Only within the past five years has the desert become a notable city for music fans, bringing massive artists as well as up and coming acts for pass-through shows. If you live in Phoenix, you know that it’s on and poppin’ on Tuesday nights. I’d like to apologize in advance to my coworkers for my tired eyes and lazy stroll into work on Wednesday mornings. Hub to intimate, cozy venues like the Crescent Ballroom, Valley Bar, and the latest addition, The Van Buren, AZ is no doubt climbing the ranks. In addition to Tuesday night jam sessions, Phoenix is also home to larger arena’s like Talking Stick Resort, Comerica Theatre, University of Phoenix Stadium, and outdoor arena Ak-Chin Pavilion. It’s safe to that Arizona has been upping its game in the music scene.
Phoenix Lights has branded itself as an EDM-heavy dance festival with a touch of hip-hop, and it’s proving that theme tenfold with this year’s line-up. Diplo, Travis Scott, Gucci Mane, Martin Garrix, Autograf, and GTA are sure to bring a guaranteed good time. Lesser known artists like Kasbo, Zomboy, and JOYRYDE will also make an unforgettable appearance.
Feast your eyes on bright installations and insane lighting for the two-day fest on April 7-8 at Azul Park at Wild Horse Pass, home to Goldrush Festival and Odesza‘s most recent A Moment Apart tour stop. Hallelujah! Also known as Rawhide, the deserted in-the-middle-of-nowhere vibe makes for the perfect music festival site. Not to mention, April is an ideal month to visit Arizona. Those who travel to the desert in June, July, or August, come to die. The upside? You can bake a dozen chocolate chip cookies on the hood of your rental car. No exaggerations here.
Last year brought Above & Beyond, Alesso, Tiesto, STS9, Vince Staples, ZHU, Illenium, and Keys N Krates. Our money’s on this year. Who’s hyped? I’m hyped.
