Troyboi Slays the Trap Game [Album Drop]

co-written with Michael Talavera

Fresh off of a phenomenal performance at the Oregon Eclipse Gathering, Troyboi has finally dropped his long-awaited debut album, Left is Right. Recent releases ‘What You Know’ and ‘Hooper ft. Healthy Chill’ left fans eager for more and we were not disappointed to discover an expansive 20 song selection on the new release. For the OG fans (pun intended), many of Troyboi‘s older classic hits made it onto the record including Sensei, ili, Grimey, Mantra, and OG, but there were plenty of new tracks to fill the void as well. With this album, the British mastermind begins to fully define and own his unmistakable and irresistible sound. The signature trap, which is blended perfectly with tastes of oriental, R&B, and hip-hop samples, has a London street style that is intoxicating and mystifying.

Lucky attendees of the Oregon Eclipse Gathering this past weekend were caught completely off guard by the hardest-hitting Troyboi set to date. He performed just before the much-revered Bassnectar took the main stage on Saturday and we heard many debates over who took the top spot that night. It was a true testament to the innovation and development of Troyboi as he eagerly continues to set the standard ever-higher. Between the performance, the album drop, and a North American tour on the way, the future of trap music is looking bright and the Troyboi momentum does not seem to be slowing down.
