But who are the can’t miss artists of Breakaway weekend?
Jacques Webster, most know him as Travi$ Scott will be performing Friday night. Scott is a twenty-five year old american rapper from Houston, Texas. Since about 2009 when Scott started his path in the music industry, he has been nothing but climbing mountains. Following up his recent tour, Birds Eye View Tour, Scott will be performing some of his biggest hits. Expect the young rapper to close the night with hits from his mixtape Owl Pharoah, Rodeo, and Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight. In addition to collaborating with artists like Kanye West, Wale, and Birdman, Scott has just released a single with Major Lazer and Camila Cabello called Know No Better. Not only has Scott’s performance been on fire, Scott has announced his new album, Astroworld, which is to be released at some point in 2017.
Christian Smith who goes by his DJ name, Crankdat. A twenty year old young artist who recently broke away from his Ohio lifestyle and took on his music career. With a full ride to Kent State University for track & field, Smith left his college career to fulfill his dream in the music industry. Just after posting his first few remixes on soundcloud, one being Trap Queen by Fetty Wap, his career launched. Within the last year Smith has went from a few thousands followers on soundcloud to over 100,000 thousand. He continues to grow while producing songs with artists such as Jauz and Lookas. Smith started producing music once he entered high school. Only a few years under his belt and he is already opening for headliners while touring the world. If you don’t know Crankdat now, there’s no doubt you will.
A twenty-six year old Cali boy from Los Angeles is just beginning. Matthew Musto, better known as blackbear, will be taking away the stage this weekend. The hip-hop and R&B artist just released his 2017 album, digital druglord. With popular songs like wish u the best, i miss the old u, and moodz from the album, blackbear will be taking away the stage. Blackbear has collabed with artists such as G-Eazy, Mike Posner, Childish Gambino, Skizzy Mars, and Mod Sun. Just this past June he was featured in the new single, Hit Me Back, with Jacob Sartorius. Between new music, talent, and recent performances, blackbear is an artist you won’t want to sleep on this weekend.
