Looking for something to do towards the end of July with your friends before summer comes to an end? Then you should make your way to Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, West Virginia for Deep Roots Mountain Revival!
The Festival
This is the second year for this new and upcoming festival with a lineup full of talent and funk. This small festival offers plenty of camping options for festival goers in open fields and tucked away in the woods. There are also car camping areas and VIP packages available. There are three stages throughout the festival grounds and various vendors and food stands available. This festival is also very family friendly with a special family camping area and various kids activities throughout the weekend. There are also plenty of adult activities and movement classes to take part in!
The Music
The lineup for Deep Roots this year is a solid balance between bluegrass, rock, jam, and funk. Bands including Brandi Carlile, Dr. Dog, Lettuce, Moon Taxi, The Motet, Aqueous, Tauk, and Yonder Mountain String Band (among so much more) will be gracing the stages to help put on a relaxing weekend full of dancing and fantastic music. One of my personal favorites, Lettuce, will be taking the main stage Thursday night to bring the funk and help kick off this weekend on the mountain. On the second day Brandi Carlile and Moon Taxi will be a few of the bands taking the stage to play some rock and roll and keep people dancing threw the night. Finally, The Motet and Yonder Mountain String Band will help close out the weekend on Saturday with a little funk and bluegrass.
Don’t miss your chance to get funky with your friends on Marvin’s Mountain top this year!
