Tom Straete Lagergren or better known as Matoma is a 24-year-old Norwegian electronic producer. He broke through the music scene with his collaborative single Old Thing Back featuring the classic Notorious B.I.G songs as the backtrack. Old Thing Back now has over 180 million streams on Spotify, Youtube, and SoundCloud. Matoma is someone to look out for – he has continuously proven himself in the EDM scene and now he is taking the spotlight at the larger festivals, such as Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, AL.
Matoma has worked effortlessly into making his music the anthem of summer sounds. If you’ve ever listened to a great summer playlist, I promise one of his hits has been on there! Old Thing Back, All Night featuring The Vamps, and recently Girl At Coachella featuring MAGIC! And D.R.A.M. define the sounds of summer dance music. Girl At Coachella was released in early 2017 and the song defines everything we love about festival fun – “being a racy festival baby” (Entertainment Weekly). One of the features on the song, MAGIC!, will be at Hangout as well, and one can only hope we will get an on stage collab of the two.
