Sonic Bloom Music Festival is held over the Summer Solstice, June 14-18th, in Spanish Peaks Country, Colorado. The backdrop of this festival is one that can’t be rivaled- the scenic Rocky Mountains, flowing creeks, and plenty of foliage- all of which makes for an excellent camping festival experience. Sonic Bloom is held at the Hummingbird Ranch, owned by Jamie Janover and located about 2 hours South of Denver. Recently, Jamie started working with Sonic Bloom to incorporate a more permanent installation for festival goers to enjoy! Everyone is eager to see how the ranch grows and develops as the festival adds more years under its belt. 2017 is a year of big changes for Sonic Bloom Music Festival- not only are they incorporating more permanent fixtures on the grounds, but they are also allowing campers to access the ranch on the Wednesday night before the festival begins at 6 pm. This will be new and most festival goers are excited about this because it will make the entry process smoother and more enjoyable.
Sonic Bloom is a fairly small festival with about 7,000-8,000 festival goers attending, but the artists that they book are on par with some of the 100,000 person festivals. This year the headliners are Gigantic Cheese Biscuits, The Polish Ambassador, The Floozies, Claude Von Stroke, OTT., TAUK, Minnesota, and the list just continues. The layout of the festival makes it easy for attendees to move easily between the 3 stages (the main stage and the second stage play until 2 am and the third stage until 6 am).
Outside of the insane musicians that Sonic Bloom has lined up, the festival also offers a full visceral artistic experience. There will be performance art, live painting, yoga/ movement workshops, and speakers all scheduled within the 5 days on the ranch. This festival is a MUST-SEE for all culture/art/music lovers! Sonic bloom does a great job facilitating a full festival experience all while providing some top names musicians!
