After surviving my first year of college and living away from family, I decided that I am going to celebrate with the ultimate start to summer, and you should too (even if freshman year of college was forever ago). I’ll give you a hint: it’s a music festival…on a beach. What? How? Where? When? Why haven’t I gone yet? Same dude. Same.
Put on by Goldenvoice (partners/producers of Coachella, Stagecoach, Firefly, and FYF), Hangout Music Festival takes place in Gulf Shores, Alabama from May 19th to the 21st. Festival hours go from 11am to 11pm every day, which kinda bummed me out at first; something tells me after being out in the sun all day, hitting the hay early might sound like a good idea. As for the “Why haven’t I gone yet?” well, that we can both change this year.
The lineup at this thing had me screaming when it came out. With headliners like Mumford and Sons, Twenty One Pilots, Chance the Rapper, AND Frank Ocean, how could one not be in love? Others that I’m way too excited to see and should not be missed are MGMT, Weezer, MAGIC!, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness (previously Jack’s Mannequin), LANY, and Cobi.
Although we do have some time before we get to dance around in the sand to some incredible performers, stay pumped up for this incredible festival with our Hangout Music Fest playlist below!
