Spring is here and festivals are blooming like flowers. Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta will begin hosting festival traffic starting with SweetWater 420 Fest April 21st-April 23rd. It is a chill environment with excellent beer, three stages of music, and even a few comedic laughs. If you feel like getting your blood pumping early, there is even a 5k race Saturday morning before the festival. Race tickets are redeemable for a beverage after the race, beer for those 21+ only!
SweetWater 420 Fest is a clash between a beer and music festival. Awesome hybrid right? I like SweetWater and their image in itself (Random stat, I even volunteered for the festival one year). The festival was originally started as an environmental celebration for Earth Day. SweetWater is everywhere you look. The festival has similar vibes to the brewery, which is conveniently located about 15 minutes from the event. It is called SweetWater 420 Fest, but there is more to the festival than just the beer.
The music will have a little jam, funk, and chill with hints of EDM at Centennial Olympic Park. I was introduced to Break Science by accident at Hangout; crazy rail rage session. Despite my dislike for veggies, I do love Lettuce. Slightly Stoopid and Dirty Heads might bring some real 420 vibes to the crowd. Always a good thing. To top it off, Widespread Panic will close out both Saturday and Sunday nights. SweetWater Sunday Funday anyone?
There is more to offer from the weekend other than my brief excerpt. Get involved. Celebrate Earth Day this year at SweetWater 420 Fest!
