Some bands have a tendency to keep popping up in every new playlist or radio station you listen to…or sometimes they appear on festival lineups you painfully can’t attend. Rufus Du Sol has been that band for me since the beginning of summer, and their knack for weaseling their way into my sphere of attention doesn’t show any sign of abating.
The platinum hit “You Were Right” is my favorite type of dance music: catchy, simple, rhythmic, with an almost sad undertone to contrast the invariably happy hip shaking. Music like that can be therapeutic to the mind and soul, like a good workout or a much needed hug. Before I catch them closing out the year at Snowglobe, I’ll be easing my stress with a local stop at the Majestic on their quickly selling-out world tour.
