Ever go to a festival and wonder which sets to sacrifice in order to see your favorites? Toronto’s VELD Music Festival is just around the corner with its fifth installment taking place July 30–31 at Downsview Park, and after the previous four years of huge headliners and amazing local talent gracing its stages, I can’t help but make some recommendations on who you absolutely cannot miss.
Let’s start out with Excision: this will his first year playing VELD, and surely every basshead in attendance will be hoping for a return of a fully covered Bacardi tent, just to see Excision blow the roof it. If you’re feeling like getting lost in some trance, New World Punx will be the set for you. Markus Schultz and Ferry Corsten are teaming up to bring fans a collaboration to remember, just like they did at Ultra Miami 2014. Finally, Galantis has been on fire the last year to say the least, and to have them on the lineup will definitely bring joy to many people’s VELD experience.
