Gem and Jam 2026 united us under the Tucson sky on February 4th-6th 2026, for three days of exploration, connection, and, of course, a funky array of music that undoubtedly got our bodies moving. What starts out as an unassuming desert lot, is quickly transformed into a colorful playground for your inner child, with bits of unexpected magic around every corner. This year the weather blessed us with clement conditions, especially for those desert dwellers choosing to fully immerse themselves in the festivities by setting up camp.

The sun-soaked days start as you leisurely meander your way from the bustle of the campgrounds to the cool grasses of the Quartz stage. As you make your way through a myriad of unique vendors and trees with notebooks hanging from their branches – where you can write your secrets, ideas and funniest jokes – you realize that it is the perfect time of day to lay out some colorful tapestries for you and your friends to lounge on. While you’re at it, why not have a refreshing acai bowl from Purple Tree, or perhaps bring out the new flow toy you picked up from Rave Circus – an Arizona native brand since 2015 – and learn new tricks from your neighbor, who just so happens to be your new best friend?

You may also find yourself curious about what the intriguing workshop lineup has to offer you. Do you want to release energetic blockages at Breakthrough Breathwork, get an introduction to the art of poi spinning, or maybe participate in the beauty of sound at the Drum Circle? The options are bountiful, giving ample opportunity to not only connect with the community, but also deepen your connection with yourself.
As the daylight begins to fade and at last the golden sun begins to set behind the expansive Arizona mountain range, it becomes time for a whole new world to come to life. When the moon rises, and the dark of night settles in, the art begins to truly come alive. The festival has now come into its peak hours and the music has begun to sing out from the speakers of each stage. You’re bubbling with excitement as you walk towards the heart of the festival grounds, the Emerald Stage. To get to the stage you must go through the Art Gallery that is teaming with treasures to the eye, and lines of artisans live painting for all to see. As you make your way through the ramada that is beaming with life, you can’t help but be lured over towards its perimeter that is lined by live painters that have finally come out to play for the evening. Something that Gem and Jam is famous for is the focus on its visionary art scene. Each of these artists exude their own unique style of brush stroke, vibrancy of color palette, and psychedelic vision. No painting is quite the same along this art walk, and it is the artist’s vision that is being birthed from brush to canvas that strikes awe in the eye of the viewer.
The cornucopia of artistry only continues on from there. Once you have finally made it to the mainstage, whether you are there for Desert Dwellers or TroyBoi, you will likely find yourself mesmerized by the flames flying around the performer circle. Here you will find a mix of talented flow art and fire performances. There are some who are wielding their blazing hula hoops, others spin the ambidextrous art of poi, and even those who have mastered the art of breathing fire.

Do you find yourself wondering what makes Gem and Jam so unique and why people travel from near and far to dance in this patch of desert? Spending just one day at this festival will fill you with a sense that there is a tight-knit, yet open armed community that has been cultivated here over the years. After all, this particular event made its first debut back in 2005, which evolved from a club event to the vibrant festival that we see today. No matter where you turn, you will find yourself inspired – to dive into your creative pursuits, to put yourself out there to make friends, or simply to be a lovelier version of yourself.
If you’re reading this, it’s your sign to come join us to dance, dream, and expand together in the desert next year. You will be pleasantly surprised…
