Movement Detroit is more than a festival—it’s a pilgrimage to the birthplace of techno. Returning to Hart Plaza over Memorial Day Weekend (May 24–26), Movement 2025 promises an unforgettable weekend filled with thunderous basslines, boundary-pushing artistry, and late-night communion under the Hart Plaza skyline. Here’s a curated look at each day, featuring just a few of the artists who will shape your soundtrack for the weekend.

SATURDAY, MAY 24 – THE ROOTS RUN DEEP

Jeff Mills

The Wizard himself returns home. Jeff Mills is a Movement cornerstone, delivering cerebral, high-concept techno with razor-sharp precision. Whether he’s weaving in sci-fi textures or hypnotic loops, Mills’ set is always part performance, part time travel.

The Blessed Madonna

Expect emotional range. She moves effortlessly from disco divas to pummeling warehouse bangers, connecting the dots between past and future like few can. Her energy is infectious—and on opening day, it sets the tone.

Carl Craig b2b Moodymann ft. Mike Banks

This triple-threat Detroit showcase is a masterclass in the city’s legacy. From house to techno to militant funk, expect soulful grit, radical politics, and zero compromise. This is Movement at its most authentic.

Helena Hauff

Bringing a raw, analog-driven edge, Hauff’s set is for the heads. Her selections tend to lean fast, dark, and unpredictable—acid-laced electro and punk-tinged techno that never play it safe.

DJ Holographic

A rising star who reps Detroit with warmth and versatility, DJ Holographic’s sets are kaleidoscopic journeys—touching on everything from cosmic house to funky techno, all delivered with radiant charisma.

SUNDAY, MAY 25 – FULL THROTTLE

Charlotte de Witte

There’s a reason she headlines worldwide. Charlotte’s sets are a high-octane ride through modern techno, built on pummeling kicks and no-nonsense energy. Sunday gets real when she hits the decks.

Goldie b2b Photek

A rare treat for bass heads—two UK icons bringing 160+ BPM breakbeat chaos. Expect jungle, liquid DnB, and deep cuts that nod to their ’90s roots while keeping it razor-sharp.

DJ Minx

Her Movement sets feel like homecoming rituals. DJ Minx delivers slinky, soulful, Detroit-flavored house music with the finesse of someone who’s lived it. Catch her set for a warm, groovy breather between the intensity.

Ben UFO

Known for his genre-fluid style, Ben UFO’s selections span from off-kilter techno to dusty UK garage and rare dubplates. No two sets are the same, and you’re guaranteed to leave Shazam working overtime.

HiTech

This Detroit-based trio is redefining ghetto tech with futuristic flair. Their sets blur the line between hip-hop swagger, rapid-fire BPMs, and playful chaos—turning the dancefloor into a bounce-heavy joyride.

MONDAY, MAY 26 – THE SEND-OFF

John Summit

The party doesn’t end until John Summit says so. His infectious blend of tech-house and melodic grooves has massive crossover appeal. Expect high energy, big sing-alongs, and a feel-good finale to close out the weekend.

Carl Cox

An unstoppable force. Carl Cox is a Movement tradition and a living legend. His sets balance pounding techno with moments of sheer ecstasy, powered by decades of experience—and pure love for the crowd.

Ela Minus

A refreshing counterpoint to the festival’s harder edges. Ela Minus crafts moody, minimal synth pop layered with her own vocals. Her live show is intimate, cerebral, and deeply human—like finding a quiet galaxy amid a raging storm.

Jamie xx

You know the name, but you might not know what to expect. Jamie xx brings a genre-defying approach that fuses UK bass, global rhythms, and nostalgic pop samples. His set could be anything—and that’s the thrill.

Klangkuenstler

For the techno purists looking to end on a relentless note, Klangkuenstler delivers industrial-strength beats. His sound is big-room, no-frills, dark and driving—perfect for losing yourself one last time before the lights come up.
